Toyota Family Literacy

Toyota Family Literacy Program (TFLP) at Griffith Elementary is a program designed especially for families whose second language is English. This program offers educational services for the whole family during the school day. It allows parents to spend more time with their children and help their children succeed and excel at school.

TFLP is made up of four components:

Adult Education- classes that teach basic education skills and English
Parent Time- provides parents with information about the educational development of their children, gives parents the opportunity to discuss their child’s education and classroom curriculum and there will be periodic presentations on a variety of topics that will benefit families
PACT Time (Parent and Child Together)- parents visit their child in the classroom and participate in classroom activities
Childhood Education- primary education of the child

Class times are Monday-Friday from 9-11:30am.
These classes are absolutely free and in addition we offer baby-sitting during class that is also free of charge.

Toyota Family Literacy Program (TFLP) en Griffith Elementary es un programa especialmente diseñada para las familias que tienen inglés como su segundo idioma. Este programa ofrece servicios educativos para toda la familia durante el día escolar. El programa permite que los padres están más tiempo con sus hijos y pueden ayudarlos a tener éxito y ser sobresalientes en la escuela.

TFLP tiene cuatro componentes:

Educación para adultos- clases que enseñan habilidades educativos básicos e inglés
Tiempo para los padres- prove los padres con información sobre el desarrollo educativo de sus hijos, les da a los padres la oportunidad de hablar sobre la educación de sus hijos y su currículo en la clase y habrán presentaciones periódicas sobre varios temas que benefician las familias
PACT Time (Padres e Hijos aprendiendo juntos)- padres visitan a sus hijos en su salón de clases y participan en las actividades de la clase.
Educación para niños- educación primaria de los niños

El horario de clases es de Lunes-Viernes de 9-11:30am.
Estas clases son completamente gratuitas y ademas ofrecemos guardería durante la clase que tambien es gratis.
